Being a semi-finalist made my whole damn day! My pilot, THE EMPTY DEPARTMENT, is a science fiction/horror drama set in DTLA, and is inspired by my two fav series, THE X FILES and SEVERANCE. If you're a fellow spooky writer, please shout yourself out so I can stalk you (gently) on social media!

DTLA is very much a science fiction horror/drama unto itself.

Congratulations to all,
For years, I’ve been writing stories alone, often unsure if anyone out there would understand or care.
My script is called “Struggle of the Sands” a historical drama about love, betrayal, and memory buried beneath desert winds.
Making it to the Semifinals is more than a milestone.
It feels like finally arriving at a place where stories are heard. Where we are heard.
The real win is belonging to this community.
Thank you all for making this space feel like home.
