Scared A Bit

Don't get me wrong, I would love to connect and network with a director so we can turn my script into a reality. Just nervous about being scammed lol

Hi, Bintou Kaba. There are some things you can do to help avoid getting scammed:

– Don't work with any director who asks you to pay them to direct your script, unless you're producing the script yourself and you're looking to hire a director

– Get everything in writing upfront and have an entertainment lawyer review the contract

– Do your due diligence by researching the director to make sure they're legit

And register your scripts with the U.S. Copyright Office before pitching them to directors, producers, etc. so your scripts are protected in case they try to make your scripts without your permission/without paying you for them.

If somebody asks for your money, it is probably a scam. But most people here are friendly. So I have thanked those who have found shortcomings in how I write.
