So I'm considering Film Production school since I'd get paid to do it and go for free (thank you for your tax dollars!) and I'm curious what you fantastic people out there think would be the best course. I've heard wildly differing views on schooling for movies so I figured I'd ask my stage32 family. Thanks!
Thanks! Unfortunately I don't have many options around Columbia MO just one, really. I have reached out to one of the instructions - hoping to get a tour.

I would say take anything that gets you the most hands-on training. Also, focus on your end goal, i.e. what you want to be doing in production. Is it directing? Cinematography? Art direction? Choose courses that will position you in those roles.

truth is, if youre not going to one of the top 20 film schools, its not going to do you much. youre better off just making films on your own. but if yiu can do AFI or usc, ucla, or any of the colleges in LA, theyre great.

Peeps pay $200K++ at USC, NYU, Art Center Pasadena, AFI for their prestige & alumni hookups. Have to agree with danny Magnus. Take the tuition money and move to Los Angeles. attend Los Angeles Community College for $1000 per semester. They got a great Film department and you're in heart of Los Angeles- 1/2 mile from Paramount Studios.
Moving isn't an option unfortunately.
