Initially I was outraged after reading ScriptShark's coverage of my "Stone's Throw From Hell" script. I had worked so hard on it, got rave reviews/coverage from www.screenplaycoverage.com but then fell flat in a bunch of contests that I entered so I rewrote it based on feedback I got from contests and then I thought I'd nailed it. But after I pieced my computer back together after throwing it across the room, I let their analysis slowly sink in. Three days later, I began a third (fourth, whatever) rewrite. I found their coverage was extremely thorough and insightful. I'm wondering if other screenwriters have been able to markedly improve a script after receiving coverage from ScriptShark or one of their competitors.
Hey, L.A. Sorry to hear that. I wouldn't bother with Scriptshark Coverage anymore. I was planning to get a coverage from them, but after I read some bad reviews I was appalled. One thing you must know about these script contests and coverage services is that most of them are in it for the money only. Writers are already poor enough, and they try to take money from these writers, to me is unethical.

Tao that's really untrue and unfair. And I don't know why writers have a rep of being broke. Most writers have day jobs or careers that they make decent money at. Most went to college. There are certainly some questionable services out there, but most legit consultants are there to help. And not take your $.

Danny - it's the "struggling artist" thing. Though I had a good full time union job as a forklift jockey before I made enough money to go full time writer. 19 produced scripts later - I often wish I could go back to the old day job... a simpler job. Good feedback is valuable.

I have strangely found that many writers really love to be labeled as struggling artists. It's kind of a creative badge of honor. And sounds better than struggling artist/successful dentist.

Hi friend I am no longer interested in Scriptshark but I greatly appreciate your enthusiasm. Everything you do speaks for who you really are. https://cuphead.online

I have gotten 2 coverages so far. One from Screenplay readers- 16 pages of notes and considering how much I had wrong she focused in on the biggest issues also a very cool report card with numerical scoring sheet. Helped me see the areas I needed the most improvement. I also used WEscreenplay- less money, but also less notes- however again they hit the nail on the head with insights. So I have had a good experience so far with coverege which has resulted in 2 major rewrites- just finished my second, lol. Maybe I will try SHARK next since you had good luck with them. I agree with you, it's better to have real insight to problems than to have smoke blown up you ( | ), who doesn't love a great rewrite, lol.
