Hello Fellow Screenwriters. Well today is the last day for Skype. I wrote in one of my scripts that someone skypes. Since I am not savvy on technology, I was hoping someone can think of a FUTURISTIC way to communicate with someone in another country other than using a phone or computer. I was thinking of maybe a clear screen where you see images (don't know what this is called)? Or you put on a visor and see images? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
I like both of those ideas, Georgette Skolnick. And what about smart glasses that let you talk to a person and see them in another place?

Just say video chat. Or Zoom. Or make up a fake company if it plays a big part in the story.

Zoom is free as long as calls are 40 minutes or less before you have to start a new one. Or you could do Google Meet if you have a Google/Gmail account. If so, it is completely free with no time limits per video call.

Well, I use Microsoft Team. Free and not different Zoom. Maybe little much boring themed.

Calling? It's something from the past and the future. But Black Mirror shows good ways too. I think in the future we just use AI companions, think HER.

There is always Discord! it has text, voice and video chat! used by a lot of gamers. :)

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of using an AI companion. I can envision a screen appearing on it. The script takes place in the not too distant future, so this is plausible.

Just make something up. People will get it.
