Start With Micro-Goals & See Where They Take You!

You don’t need more hours in the day. You need a better process.

Stage 32 CEO RB (@rbwalksintoabar on social media) breaks it down: The reason most people fail at their goals? They don’t make them attainable. They don’t set themselves up for success.

Want to write a screenplay but feel like you don’t have time? Write one page a day.

In 100 days, you’ll have a feature film.

It’s not about huge leaps. It’s about small, consistent steps that compound over time.

Watch this and start setting yourself up to win.

What’s one micro-goal you’re setting for your creative journey this week?

Maurice Vaughan

Exactly, RB and Ashley Renee Smith. One of the reasons I get so much done is I make micro goals at the start of the day and throughout the day. I've been working on a feature script today. I have about 9 pages left in the first draft. One of my micro goals today is get 3 more pages done, then finish the draft tomorrow.

Ashley Renee Smith

That's awesome, Maurice Vaughan! Rooting for you!

Maurice Vaughan

Thanks, Ashley Renee Smith. I reached my goal for the day.

Love this advice! definitely great for those who need to achieve a goal or check a task list to feel that achievement. Staring off small with attainable goals can create momentum, trust in your abilities, and can give you that drive to keep hitting those goals until the next one is the last one. Good luck everyone!

"Just write one page a day." That's all I ask when I'm working on an actual script...and doggone it, it works!

Aaron Mirtes

SO so true. It's kind of like the "Atomic Habits" idea. A little each day will stack up quickly over the long term!

Chiara Torrisi

Thanks for bringing the topic; it's so easy to forget this simple but extremely effective advice, Ashley Renee Smith

Erin Leigh

This is exactly what I needed to hear today. :)

Lauren Hackney

I'm writing my first Christmas feature film screenplay. I like writing, I get up early every day because I find it exciting. Storytelling can heal and storytelling can be an escape. And I agree, with RB - you gotta make it happen!

Sebastian Tudores

super advice here from RB - if we want a "cumulative effect" we need to build and operate within "repeatable processes"

Jack Binder

Small steps repeated lead to great advances!
