Financing for a VERY Unique Film

Hello! I'm looking to create an artistic film about God, love, betrayal, spiritual crisis, and enlightenment. If anyone here can help me figure out my next step with a finished script, I'd greatly appreciate that. This film is truly unique, nothing like it.

Thank you in advance,

Nicole Viruet

Thank you, James! Just saw your reply.

You're welcome. I use the services and find them incredible.

Rookies describe their stories as truly unique and nothing like it. I can already tell your script is a long way from where you think it is. But you're excited cause you finished ONE. If writing one version of one script was enough to go pro, nobody would work at Walmart. They'd all be in Hollywood. There's also room for improvement in your pitch. Take 2: you don't have a pitch. Your post has no specificity. It's generic. You're jumping the gun on Financing by years.... Years, my friend.... Focus on craft. Hope this helps

Long time, Shawn! Back and offering sage advice as usual.

Go for it Nicole... It's not clear if this is your first script or not and it sounds like you're hoping to get the money to take your project to the next step... that's gonna be a tough mountain to climb, regardless of whether it is truly unique or not, but they said that about Everest. Yes, it is tough but people have done it. With the right tools and skills behind you, you can do it. Are you intending to direct and produce it yourself and just need the money? If so, maybe start/investigate crowdfunding depending on what kind of budget you need (presuming you have a budget already). If you're looking at others to produce/direct your work, then you'll need to fine-tune your pitch and get your script "out there". Lots of resources here at Stage32 and other sites that can help with that. It's a great achievement finishing a script.

Financiers don't want unique. They want the same shit with a different twist.

If you want a non-denominational film then my I suggest the following: A woman who is dying of throat cancer has to give up her part time signing in a community choir. We see her go through the various stages of joy, distress and angst as she has to come to terms with her illness. I will leave it up to you to say who or what will save her so she can continue to sing the religious works of the great composers. When you finished writing post to your producer of choice for the best criticism.

The religious movie I'd like to see: The US president goes to pay a call on the Pope who he despises. But as the president is not very bright he doesn't know that two of his staff are on a secret mission to arrange for replacement funds to fill the gaps that the Trump educational cuts have caused. But the plan goes off course as the two find out that the Vatican is one of the most corrupt places outside of wall street. The two Presidential aides also met people and the NGO activists who have been sidelined by the Vatican bureaucracy. The pope finds out about the aides mission - will he help the aides - can he do anything about the frame up corruption charges against the NGO - yours for the telling at no charge.

Well, it is a secular spiritual film. There is swearing, also terrifying scenes involving knives. Not family oriented. ha.
