I found this interview. I normally never post links to external stuff. I think people come here to learn and exchange ideas, not be sent somewhere else.
But this interview was really valuable and his views on the evolving nature of screenplays is interesting and a must hear for new writers. Having said that, it isn’t an excuse to be crap and say it is an evolving style.
Interesting that his process is directly opposite to mine.
Julia here is 2019's Oscar Nominated Screenplays for download. It says they are only up for the awards season but they still seem active links.

Sorry Julia just noticed you are looking for spec scripts. I think those will be hard to find, hopefully someone can help.

Julia Petrisor, Spec script of a shooted script is hard to find unless you know the writer personally or anyone who once had it. This is what makes specs little difficult. Keep reading the shooting scripts you have and stay focus on the do's and don'ts when writing your spec.
Good luck, my dear friend.

The thing I liked the most in this interview was the acknowledgement that the art form is constantly evolving. I know that supports my belief, so of course I am pleased to hear it.
I also like how in his mind, nothing is off the table when comes to story telling.
Yh Craig, I heard him saying for the sake of the constant evolving of the art form, we need to read scripts written by professionals in recent years. So is he trying to say when you choose write in the form used earlier, are your scripts going to be rejected or what?

Felix Agyeman Boahen I think he is saying don’t just read the classics. I also believe, that if you need to do something to make the script work do it. Use every tool available or if needed make a tool.
The truth, that a great story has nothing to do tools. If you write a great story the tools don’t matter.

"Having said that, it isn’t an excuse to be crap and say it is an evolving style." Oh shucks! Just when I was getting my hopes up, haha.
Thanks for sharing this, Craig. Always have been a voice that supports doing what works to make the script great, and not simply follow layouts and stipulations by "The Gurus".
