The New Year was to be a life story change with dreams and aspirations abound. At age 50 I started N.Y.U's Film and Tv Essentials credential course for a year-long delve into all things film. As a beginning writer with hopes of directing my own film the new car smell is just kicking in. I'm looking for a writing partner to work with when schedules allow in hopes to fuel some great stories while learning from someone who isn't me with internet addiction. All writing levels welcome. I'm using Final Draft 11 and have a script account that can be collaborative also. Any suggestions where and to whom would be interested will be appreciated. Remember, it's never too late to go back to school.

Hey, Matthew Fasken! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. If you'd like to learn more about myself and the Stage32 Team, we have an intro blog: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Meet-the-Stage-32-Team Nice to meet you and welcome to the community!
You are so right, it's never too late! I originally went to college straight out of high school, but after a year, I went into the work force to make my money and stop wasting it until I knew what I wanted. I went back at 27 to get my BFA in Film and Video Production. And I totally intend to get my Masters/PhD before the end of my life. How have you been enjoying your intensive so far?
I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but I'd LOVE for you to post in the Filmmaking Lounge! Maybe you could start a conversation about what y'all have had to do to keep your classes COVID-safe? https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing I think you'd also enjoy the Cinematography Lounge, too: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/cinematography
Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:
https://www.stage32.com/blog/Find-Your-Community-on-Stage-32
Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time. Cheers!
Hi, Kay. Nice to meet you. Thank you for the links. I'm just getting my feet wet and Stage32 seems like the place to do it. I'll explore around and see what's what with who and how. Congrats on your BFA. That is harder than it looks but like any passion it's a labor of love.

Matthew Fasken Welcome to the stage 32! Once you feel like your script is in good shape or you feel like you may to connect with an executive in the industry, I think a mentorship call may be very cool for you. I've connected with executives on this platform and they have all been so valuable and insightful. https://www.stage32.com/scriptservices/coverage/buy?id=6
Sarah Gabrielle Baron Hi, Thanks, The Writer's Room is on my radar. There are so many added-value products here and on other sites, I'm overwhelmed. I'm enjoying the struggle of learning from so many talented people I forget there is a cost for services at the end of the day.
Debbie Croysdale Hi, absolutely, if you can find a home for the phrase be my guest.
