Hi All. I'm FINALLY making the leap into the "Introduce Yourself Weekend" and couldn't be more excited to do so. Originally from Providence, Rhode Island and now living in Studio City, my name is Stephen and I'm a recovering litigator turned emerging screenwriter/studio reader who specializes in writing action-comedy features-- my most recent feature, DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW, just Semi'd in ISA's 2021 Comedy Genre-Busting competition. Anyway, I'm really excited to join this community-- again, finally-- and can't wait to meet all of you!
Congrats on the Semi's placement! Welcome back!
Thank you, Ryan.
Thanks, Sandeep!
Congratulations on the semi-final placing. Do you use your litigations background in your week or have you forgotten that part of you life totally.

I loved a “recovering litigator” - Probably gives you excellent creativity for your scripts.
Hi Neighbor! I was born on ‘the Hill’; now live at the shore. Pleasure to meet a fellow Rhode Islander.

Thanks, Steven-- I thoroughly use my litigation background in my day-to-day writing and have tried my hardest to forget it, but just can't shake it. It's kinda like GODFATHER 3-- "just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"

Thank you, Amanda. I did write a legal feature a couple of years ago called "LIABLE" that received an "8" on the Blacklist-- so maybe it did provide both some creativity and credibility to the project.
How funny, Donna. Good luck with the hurricane this weekend.

I just paid an entertainment attorney 400 dollars for one hour phone call. He wants 7500 nonrefundable to represent me. Is this regularly paid by struggling writers?

Thanks, Maurice! It's a female-led, semi-contained, holiday action-comedy-- think MIDNIGHT RUN meets JOHN WICK in the HOME ALONE house!
Thank you, I-netha! Nice to meet you as well.

Hey Stephen Chrabaszcz - I will always remember from the classic film "Clueless" the line, "my dad's a litigator, those are like the scariest kinds of lawyers..." Haha. I am sure you have a TON of war stories to share on screen from your days in the court room.

Stephen Chrabaszcz congratulations and welcome!
actually I should have told you my script is about a lawsuit which I won against all odds. The only witness against me was a district attorney. would he be able to sue me even though I don't mention his name or what state he was from. I would appreciate your help. if you can find the time to help me.

Hi Stephen Chrabaszcz, congratulations and good luck with your feature! Interesting, I'm also working on something close! It's an LGBTQ-inspired Romantic Comedy series called HAPPILY MARRIED, and I'm writing it with a family lawyer based in the US. The pilot script is done and I just finished the 2nd episode today. I've already plotted everything so I'm ready to write through season 2 and beyond.
I have recently booked Pitch Sessions with some execs so it's also an exciting time for me. Let's keep in touch, maybe we could work together in the future!
