Hi, it's been a long time since I posted here. I love writing. It's been a tough period for me, but now I'm back!:)
What should I do with a short Action Sci-Fi screenplay I wrote? I posted it on InkTip about two weeks ago, but didn't get requested...:(
Where else should I post it? Could it be posted on Stage32, and if so, in what section/lounge, or is it against the rules to do that here?:)

There is a jobs section here so you can post it there. Reddit has a ProduceMyScript group where you can post it as well. Good luck with getting decent responses, you'll need it. You're wasting your money using InkTip for shorts (it's doubtful even for features). It's best to personally engage filmmakers and ask if they need shorts for their reel. You can use Reddit & Stage32 for that.

Dan MaxXx Many people don't want to make their own films - they don't know how & they're not interested. There's the small inconvenience of them not having the equipment & other resources as well. That's why there are filmmakers, crew etc. That's why writers advertise their work independently or via agencies. If someone asks where to post their writing, it's safe to assume they want someone else to produce their work.

A Alex I always thought the Purpose of writing a short was to produce it. People use shorts as proofs of concepts. A production company isn’t going to buy a short script. Nor can you get representation off of it. So what other purpose would a short script be?

Cameron Tendaji Unsure why you think the "purpose" of writing a short is to produce it. Filmmakers use shorts as proof of concepts SOMETIMES. Hence they often put out requests for writers to create such shorts - because they themselves don't write. It follows that writers often don't make their own shorts - because they themselves aren't directors, producers etc. Nothing wrong with that. Shorts are often used by writers as practice or as samples for filmmakers.

A Alex, the very best (I may be exaggerating) exercise you can do to improve as a writer, is to write and make some short films. They teach so much about what is actually needed in a screenplay. They open your eyes to how that really clever line is meaningless when it comes to production. Here are two I made. My daughter was an aspiring director. These cost nearly nothing to make.

There are short competitions you could submit to, I am not sure if the season is open yet but placing in something like that might help it get some steam for potentially making a feature.
Cameron Tendaji, I sold three short scripts to a producer who has a production company. I also see a lot of companies on Screenwriting Staffing that buy short scripts (https://www.screenwritingstaffing.com/screenwriting-jobs-script-searches).

Whats the pay for shorts Maurice Vaughan ? Just a ballpark number please
Your daughter did a great job directing, Craig. The shots and movie quality in "Change in Me" looked better than the shots and quality in "Blood Brother," which shows her growth as a director. I noticed you stumbled a few lines in "Blood Brother" (maybe that was intentional), but you actually did a nice job acting.

Around $200-$500 for a short script, Dan MaxXx. Sometimes lower, sometimes higher depending on the page count and the producer or company's budget.

Maurice Vaughan I’m a little confused. Is that $200-$500 sale for a short script based on WGA minimums? Or was that an option sale?
I'm not sure what the WGA minimum for short scripts is, Cameron Tendaji. Short scripts don't take me long to write (maybe 1 or 2 days), so a $200-$500 purchase amount is acceptable. If there is a WGA minimum for short scripts and I get into the WGA (or get hired by a WGA-certified company), I would, of course, charge more.
