Introduce Yourself : Coach for Creatives and Actress by Alexandra Stevens

Alexandra Stevens

Coach for Creatives and Actress

Reintroducing myself. I've been part of Stage 32 since earlier this year and I moderate in the acting lounge. I cam to acting and creativity very late in life after experiencing some grief which made me reflect on my life and how i wanted it to be. I made some big decisions and decided to train as an actor, pivot from working soley as a trauma psychotherapist to supporting creatives, and relocating from London to Lisbon with two under five kids in tow. The life I want is still a journey in process and learning lots along the way. All of my experiences have helped to crystallise the knowing that my passion is the alchemising of emotion. Whether it be through acting or through supporting other actors and creatives to give their best. In fact last week I started a You Tube channel on this topic called "From Sh*t to Gold" which is about transforming trauma into creativity. Here is the link. https://youtu.be/mQQhROCEpw8?si=pVSfAgpoYqvitzIE

My question is, what would you as creatives and artists most like to read about/discuss in the acting lounge or any lounge in fact?

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Alexandra Stevens. Great introduction post and video! I like the name of your channel! I just subscribed to it. I'd like to read about/discuss what actors want from writers in scripts.

Ilay Yılmaz

“I truly believe that everything has its own time because of my life experiences. I sincerely wish that one day you will achieve all your goals and live the days of success you dream of.”

Wyman Brent

I know for a fact that the above creative who made this post is a wonderful chatter.

Carly Crickenberger

Grief has also helped shaped me and pointed me towards the goal of working in writers rooms. Though, I like to run towards things I fear, and you’ve got me thinking I might need to recharge and support my acting!

Ashley Renée Smith!

Alexandra Stevens, I resonate with this so deeply. After losing my mom almost three years ago, I found myself reevaluating everything. In the midst of that grief, I made some of the biggest and best decisions of my life, relocating, changing careers, and choosing to realign my time and energy around creativity, healing, and helping others. I haven’t looked back either.

Thank you for sharing your story so openly and for the work you’re doing to create space for emotional transformation in this industry. You’ve already sparked so many meaningful conversations in the Acting Lounge, and I’d love to see more threads about sustainable creative practices, navigating the emotional weight of performance, and how to protect your inner artist in a challenging business. Grateful to know you.

Sebastian Tudores

hi Alexandra Stevens ! you have such a wealth of knowledge that anything you want to share about the dynamics of emotion, its processing both as a character and as an actor, etc will bring great value to any reader. I’ve already learned so much from you :) cheers

Alexandra Stevens

Maurice Vaughan thank you for being you. Always so supportive and willing to go the extra mile with people. It means a lot that you subscribed to my channel (likely the only one thus far :) Good to know what you are interested in, I will bear it in mind. For me as actress, I like scripts where there is lots of dialogue and emotional complexity and depth and where the outcome of the dialogue is that both people are changed. A recent play I loved was The 'Quiet House by Gareth Farr.

Alexandra Stevens

Ilay Yılmaz thanks for your kind and supportive words, they warm my heart

Alexandra Stevens

Carly Crickenberger that's interesting that. grief spurred you on too. And yes, I fully support you. brushing off your acting!

Alexandra Stevens

Wyman Brent OMG i just started listening to your music as I reply to answers to. my re-intro. I love them, really I do. You have a great voice! I jus listened to "No Lock to Fit' and also 'Inside Was The Key".. The songs/your voice are a bit Dylan-esque. I even listened to one for kids. Hmmm.......really hope the rest of the word gets to hear them

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Alexandra Stevens. Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm sure you'll get a lot of subscribers. Thanks. I'll keep that in mind when I write scenes. I'll check out The 'Quiet House.

Alexandra Stevens

Ashley Renée Smith! thanks for your kind and supportive words. Seeing you do such a great job of being head of community whilst juggling creative projects is inspiring and we're lucky to have you. I love the topics you have suggested too, good food for thought.

Alexandra Stevens

Aww Sebastian Tudores high praise coming from someone with so much expertise as an ex-acting professor. I'm blushing ;) Thank you!

Wyman Brent

Alexandra Stevens, I am really glad that you like the songs. I want to be clear with everyone, I do write every word of every song. However, the instrumentation and vocals are A.I. generated. I only have a great voice in the shower.

Sydney S
