I'm pretty happy right now - I made a contact on LinkedIn (Sorry, S32! Heh!), a chap from NZ, VFX supervisor and previously a director for commercials. And here I am in little ol' England.
Anyway, long story short, he loved my pilot and wished me all the best...
Considering the pitches I've pitched through here, and NOT had a script request, this was a breath of fresh air for me. I get nervous pitching and it's not about the pitch, but about my memory (before anyone asks!).
Just wanted to share my Sunday afternoon high... hahaha!

Thanks Darrell A Pennington - and yes, it is a good feeling. I am my own worst critic of my own work - somtimes I'm like "it's great, why is no one biting?" and, almost in a bipolar way, I dramatically change to "this is sh**...." haha!

Emilia-Maria I am well versed in the self loathing/unseen genius dichotomy lived with each page of a new script hahahaha.

This is a great win especially when it comes from someone outside the usual pipeline. That kind of response tends to be more honest, and it says a lot about the strength of the work itself.
It also highlights something important: sometimes it’s not that the material isn’t working, it just hasn’t reached the right set of eyes yet.
On pitching what you’re describing is more common than people admit. It’s rarely about the idea, it’s about holding the structure under pressure. One thing that helps is anchoring yourself in the core spine of the story rather than trying to recall everything. If that’s solid, you can navigate the rest.
Either way, this is a strong signal you’re on the right track. Keep going.

Happy Sunday, - - It's now Monday. Happy Monday, Emilia. If you're not nervous when pitching, you're not normal.
