About Donna

Donna M. Carbone is a published author (The Cat Leigh and Marci Welles Crime Novels etal) and produced playwright (Shell of a Man etal). She is also a contributor to numerous news services. Her monthly column, The View from My Pedestal, appeared in The Beacon Magazine for five years. Currently, she writes specialized editorials for the Jupiter Courier. Her poetry and short stories have been featured in recognized publications. She is working on her third Cat Leigh and Marci Welles murder mystery as well as her second children's book. Donna has a number of stage plays under consideration by theaters across the country. She also teaches creative writing at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre.

Since her daughter's kidnapping and rape in 2007, Donna has been an outspoken voice for women's rights. She is co-founder of the website feelnoshame.org, which offers support and resources for survivors of assault. She also advocates for better health programs for veterans and mentors gifted fifth graders who hope one day to be famous authors.
