Expand postCalling all Filmmakers & Scriptwriters! Portland Previews 2015 Spotlights Scripts & Films Portland Previews 2015 in its second year is a new niche in the film festival circuit. This two-day event allows filmmakers and scriptwriters to be seen and heard in a smaller venue without the normal din that surrounds the larger festivals. Portland Previews is an excellent chance to network within the industry, meeting support businesses, crew, cast, and extras, and talk to investors all interested in helping to put Portland and Oregon on the map. New this year will be the Table Reads, presented by professional actors to acknowledge the three winning scripts from short films, feature films, and TV. The “1st 10 Pages” Scriptwriting Contest puts each script to the real-world test that it will have to survive to be produced. Holocene (1001 SE Morrison Street) will host more than 350 fans at this storytelling evening on Friday, April 10th. On Saturday, April 11th, Cinema 21 (616 NW 21st Avenue) will follow last year’s success in opening its doors, again to its largest theater to accommodate 500 fans. The Official Film Selections of short films and movie trailers and movie teasers for feature and documentary films will be showcased with a Q&A immediately following. Both venues open at 4 pm. VIP tickets with reserved seating are available. General admission is free with cash bar and food options. The 2nd Annual Portland Previews 2015 is an incredible opportunity to see what Portland is writing and creating. Each submission must have a connection to Portland or the state. Expand postYou're Invited! The 41st Northwest Filmmakers’ Festival invites you to the Northwest Filmmakers’ Un-Conference. (It’s free—all day long.) Saturday, November 8 10 AM – 4 PM 10 AM at the Marion L. Miller Gallery (inside the Portland Art Museum’s Mark Building) 1211 SW Park Avenue, Portland, OR 97205 We’ve wrangled breakfast (granola and yogurt) from KIND healthy snacks and Stumptown coffee. At 11 AM The conference will expand to the classrooms of the NW Film Center’s School of Film (on the corner of SW 10th and Salmon). For lunch, we will have coupons for free entrees at any of the three Chipotle Mexican Grills within walking distance of the Film Center or you are welcome to bring your own. At 4 PM Join us back in the Miller Gallery for “What’s Wrong With This Picture?” Watch and participate as Seattle film guru Warren Etheredge examines a few films that were not selected for the 40th Northwest Filmmakers' Festival and offers his insight, minced with audience input, to the makers. (The theater inside the Portland Art Museum’s Mark Building at 1211 SW Park Avenue, Portland, OR 97205.) HOW DO YOU PARTICIPATE First things first: Go to our NW Filmmakers' Un-Conference BarCamp page. http://barcamp.org/w/page/404072/NWFilm Keep that link handy as you may get re-routed when you sign in. Click the “edit” tab. Sign in (or sign up if you don’t have an account). There is a log in link on the upper right corner of the page or lower on the right, a link that says: “To join this workspace, create an account.” ONCE YOU ARE SIGNED IN Add your name and email to our page and add all the topics you can think of that you would like the Un-Conference to include. This is where we begin brainstorming topics, so there is no such thing as a bad idea. The day of the Un-Conference, we will vote on which ones we most want to discuss. Please do invite other filmmakers to participate. Just forward this invitation. Additional information is available at the NWFilm.org Hope to see you this Saturday!
