"Catch of the Day" is a motion picture budgeted to be produced at $2 million, and for theatrical exhibition in the United States and abroad. The film genre is drama, with emphasis on environmental responsibility with attributes of relationships, teen sexuality, and self-identity.

David – this is fantastic advice for the beginner filmmaker.

I had the same experience with the student film I produced, Blood, Sweat and Cabernet, where we were shooting a scene in a winery right next to a noisy refrigeration unit that would go on and off at random times. In addition, like you, we tried to muffle it with sound blankets as well as shoot around the noise. Can you say ADR…?

As an experienced film producer now, I have found a fantastic site, Peerspace, that has an inventory of locations available for filmmakers to rent at (usually) reasonable prices.

Sometimes "free" isn't "no-cost"...

FYI for the feature I'm working on we are thinking of shooting w/ 2 Arri Alexa Mini cameras, one on stedicam. Let me know if you have experience with this camera and stedicam outfit - if so I'll pass your name on to the DP. Tentative production is Summer of 2019 in the SF bay area - aprox 25 day shoot.

Hi everyone, I've been subscribed here for quite a while but never really introduced myself. I am a Director & 3D animator who loves to tell stories. For the past 7 years or so I have been working on a short film series called The Mega Plush with my writing partner Kyle. We have 3 short films made, check out www.themegaplush.com to watch them. We also have been working to make it in to a bigger production and have a pilot script ad the beginnnings of some pitch material. We are looking to talk to producers or anyone who would be able to help make our vision become a reality.

Catch of the Day is a woman-driven drama that’s Lady Bird meets Manchester by the Sea. It’s about a trapped corporate accountant still running from the pain of her fisherman mother washed to sea, and her angling-loving teenage daughter. When called home during summer salmon season, mother and daughter struggle with the inheritance of the debt-ridden family fishing boat and the chance to make local fishing – and their own lives – sustainable once again.

We are in development now and plan on beginning shooting around May of 2019. We are looking to fill key crew positions and are in immediate need of a PMD.
