A black teenage punk rocker in the 1990’s learns how to hold his life and his band together while searching for a family in the underground punk scene.

SYNOPSIS:

Elmo and his best friends Sid and Nancy go to High School together in Hayward California. They just started their own punk band called Snotty and dream about playing their first gig at the Rio Theater in Berkeley, where all the real punk bands play. In order to do this, they have to play their school talent show to impress Tim, a senior at school and an insider at the Rio. When they fail to pass the auditions, Elmo solicits the help of a shy singer named Ruby to help them get the show. The new band ends up rocking the talent show and launching Elmo and Snotty down the path to underground superstardom.
