Hi Everyone,

Hoping to find opportunities, connect with other great people in this industry, to learn more about this indu...

I Write Stuff, All Kinds of Stuff

It's been awhile since I joined the "meet me" fray. The good news is, I've finished several scripts since then, gotten a few things in flight. I also still have specs hanging out there looking for a home. I'm always looking for collaborators, too, because I'm a glutton for punishment and like to mak...

Great to meet you Tamara! What do you think about filming in time of COVID using Zoom and split screens? Any ideas?

Bill Lonero
How many?

How many scripts are you working on at one time? Do you work on one until it’s finished or do you jump between multiple scripts? If you work on multiple scripts, are they of the same genre or do you work in multiple genres? Do you find yourself being inspired by one script and using some of the ideas from that one on another script?

Ramsey Anderson

Similar to above.. I can only focus on one first draft, which takes up ALL my space.. but once that draft is complete I can bounce around projects.

Matthew Barker

I should have made a similar distinction to Ramsey in that if it's a first draft, I cannot as easily jump between it and others.

Ruben Diaz

I'm always working on several projects at one time, depending on deadlines, desire, and momentum, I'll focus on one or another.

Screenplays make great novel outlines

If you have a screenplay you have had trouble selling, consider turning it into a novel. Novels can be self-published and you don't have to compromise your story. If the book takes off, then producers will want to read a script from you. I turned a screenplay into a novel and found a publisher. In s...

I did just the opposite. I converted my Southern Gothic screenplay (DARKHORSE) into what became a trilogy (The Lies That Bind, Honor Among Outcasts and soon to be released Something in Madness). I found an agent and publisher fairly quickly with book 1.

Craig D Griffiths

Outstanding Ed. That proves it was a solid story. Sometime I think movies are a “not now business” and novels are 100% quality based. A movie can be great, but not right for today. A book can have a shelf life that lets it find the audience.

Craig D Griffiths

Hi CJ, of course it is. I’ve always know it. But I have never really made the connection in my mind.

There is also the platform effect. Books get cheaper to buy, but never really become free. If you re...

Characters Intro

When some writers introduce characters, they describe their personalities -- besides their appearances if it matters for the story -- using qualifying adjectives or other linguistic tools. And all this before the character even spoke or acted in a certain way.

Other writers only mention the characte...

Adobe Premier has 4 good ones I have had to work miracles with. De-hummer, Adaptive noise reduction, parametric equalizer and multi-band compressor. I would find some bad audio and try them all there are tons of tweaks you can do with them.

Barry Ryerson

I've just spotted this. Doubtless I'm too late now, but I help repair audio including de-noising. If I can help out please do get in touch.

Claire Dodin

For noise reduction, the best software I know is Izotope RX pro. I think they are on nb 8 now. It can work as a plugin in your DAW.
