Almost all 4 stars. Interesting. A logline with much potential but almost too recognisable.

Adaptation sounds good, so I am commenting on the log line. The synopsis is just a long version of it. If there's no new information, cut the log line. In 19th Century France, an orphan goes to boarding school and struggles with questions of identity. Okay, now tell me the pertinent details.

I can definitely see this tale being told on a show for History Channel. The theme of growth in your story proves the following saying: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
