Financing / Crowdfunding : Slated? by Leanne Campbell

Slated?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else heard of Slated? They have an executive producer program. Just wondering what people think of it. Seems like they fund films if the script quality is good enough.

I'm not sure if their programs are legit or the fees are rip off. Anyone got any experience with it??

David E. Gates

If they're asking you for money, then it's probably a rip-off. They should be paying YOU for your script / optioning etc.

Erik A. Jacobson

Have never met anyone who got funded through them. They appear to make their money by selling programs which enhance your ability to reach the top recommended level with potential investors.

Alan M. Cossettini

I've just signed in, listed a movie project. I'll let you know if something happens. :)

I dont think Slated is a source for funding but more for promoting your projects anf getting a production team which can include anything from producers, executives, financiers, there really is a broad range, I have several features listed and have even been attached to a couple recently, but Ive never paid any money either.

When it comes to finding financing partners, I like to think their success would speak for itself on my projects so they are contracted into the production and a percentage upob funds being released

I've been on slated for a while and have a project listed. Unless you have a recognizable crew or cast it's hard to get noticed by the people who can get your project moving forward. But that said I have made some good contacts on the site. At the end of the day slated it just another resource and you'll still need to cultivate relationships with people. Those projects that use slated that are successful are those that have a great concept, a well thought out budget, and plan which means you'll have to do a lot of work before listing on slated. I think slated has a great program but make sure you've done all you can in developing your project before going to slated. Slated is no different than hiring a script consultant or another expert to help you package your show. The benefit with slated is that if you've put in the work it can help you find the investors for your film

Cheryl Lynn Sherman

I'm there also. They have offers that cost.

Stephen Folker

Slated is a great place to raise financing. However, Melissa Butler says it best. You need to do your legwork first and have business plan, financial projections, some attachments etc.
