Diana De Rosa - Actress, Equine Journalist, Location Properties Manager, Photographer, and Props for Sale

I do so many things and am passionate about all of them. For the last few years I have been the Worldwide Equestrian Correspondent for the EQUUS Television Network, so if you film has anything to do with horses I'm your expert. Also, I work closely with the Tryon International Film Festival who would really like to see more equestrian films entered. They have all kinds of categories where all kinds of films can be entered and in addition some special awards for equine films, but they aren't limited to the equine world. Visit their website for more details or reach out to me for more details. I'm also an equine journalist who has covered 9 Olympic Games. A part time actress who has done a variety of things, especially anything involving dancing but at my age I can be a mother, grandmother, businesswoman and more. I handle my brother's location properties on Long Island, especially his mansions but also his residential properties. So, if you are looking for a place to shoot your next film on Long Island, we've got what you need. I'm very much into recycling and as such have ended up selling a lot of props to productions because I often have year appropriate items. I've done a lot of international travel so wouldn't mind being in another country as a talent. I also do a lot of filmmaker zoom interviews as well as in person and zoom interviews for the EQUUS Television Network. My next international trip will be in Chile for the Santiago2023 Pan American Games covering the equestrian sports as a writer and photographer. I've done articles and interviews for trailers and films. I've done and do a lot. So, if any of my skills inspire you keep me in mind.

His Diana De Rosa - it's great to meet you here in the community. I grew up in NYC and most people don't know about Long Island's equestrian community (been to the Hampton Classic a few times and used to know a family in Oyster Bay with a big horse farm). From The Black Stallion to Seabisquit there have been so many great films with horses as the central character. How did you get into being an Equestrian Correspondent?

Diana De Rosa

When I was six years old my candle cake wish was to one day have a horse. I eventually got a horse, ran a riding school, met someone who wanted me to write about horses for the sports publication and the rest is history. BTW your credentials are very impressive. Well done!

Maurice Vaughan

If I write a script with horses, I know who to hire to make sure it's accurate, Diana De Rosa. Actually, I just thought of a script idea with a horse. Thanks!

Diana De Rosa

Great and do keep in mind that the Tryon International Film Festival is encouraging filmmakers to submit horse films.

Debbie Elicksen

Diana De Rosa one of my good friends who used to work for CBC in Canada also worked the equestrian beat. My favorite horse story will always be Canonero II. Inspiring to this day. Why a mainstream movie has never been made about this horse, I will never know. The story is so unbelievable, but it is real.

Leonardo Ramirez

Welcome Diana De Rosa Glad you're with us. Whenever I see or hear someone speak of their equine experience, it takes me back to a beach in Puerto Rico where my sister and I were placed on a horse bareback for pictures. A relative, yanked it's tail and the horse bucked us off and trampled us. After that experience, my sister went on to ride in competitions while I never got back on. Someday I'll work through that fear...promise!

Welcome to Stage 32!

Diana De Rosa

Great story Leonardo and Debbie Canonero II sounds great. Maurice I hope you do a script with horses. If any of you know of a filmmaker who has a horse film tell them about the Tryon International Film Festival. The cost to enter is low and it's a great opportunity and they add horse films into the mix.

Maurice Vaughan

Will do, Diana De Rosa. I bookmarked your post.

Alana Gerdes

Hi Diana

My female-led romantic horse racing drama „Furlong Fix“ just placed Quarterfinalist in the Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards, its third accolate after also placing Quarterfinalist at the Stage32 Drama Screenplay Competition and as Honorary Mention at the Big Apple Film Festival. Happy to send it to you if you‘re interested.

Logline: Finding herself homeless and unemployed, a short-tempered female jockey teams up with a gambling trainer to compete at the Kentucky Derby, only to find that the real prize can’t be won on the turf.

You can also find the synopsis and pitch deck on my profile/loglines.

Let me know if that‘s something for you!

Best, Alana

Thank you for taking the time to reintroduce yourself to the community, Diana!

Diana De Rosa

Alana you should enter your file into the Tryon International Film Festival that takes place in October. The first deadline is the end of April. The late deadline is the end of May and it's a great film festival. Enter it in the generic appropriate category and then in the Equestrian Category. Feel free to email me if you have questions: dderosa1@optonline.net or diana@equustelevision.net.

Dustin Richardson

Nice to meet you, Diana De Rosa! I work at an International Film Festival, too! That's awesome you've worked so much with horses.
