Introduce Yourself : TITA ANNTARES - playwright by Tita Anntares

TITA ANNTARES - playwright

Hi again. I'm a lurking stage play writer. Studied with dramaturg Hal Croasmun at ScreenwritingU - I'd choose a story to write for Hal's well structured assignments first for film, then for a stage play.

Facinating differences. Helped me infuse the power of visuals, movement and places in a film into the stage play - with much more dynamic, interactive dialogue and emotional as well as physical action. Every once in a while I see an opportunity on "Stage"32 for plays that a film producer might consider.

Tita Anntares Great to meet you! I recently started reading plays to help me think differently as a screenwriter. I've really enjoyed what I've read so far and have been thinking maybe I should try my hand at a play.

Fun! I’ve always been interested in stage plays but went the screenwriting route instead.

I’m so glad that you’re stepping out of the shadows and introducing yourself, Tita Anntares! ! I really appreciate the way you describe bridging cinematic structure and stagecraft, it’s such a powerful way to enrich storytelling. That kind of cross-medium thinking is so valuable, especially as more producers explore stage-to-screen adaptations and vice versa.

If you haven’t already, I’d love to invite you to the Stage 32 August Community Open House happening Wednesday, August 27th. It’s a free, live session that walks you through everything Stage 32 has to offer:

great to meet you Tita Anntares - I’ve written scenes for my acting students but never a full play. but I do miss them. probably should not admit this here, but I’ve definitely read maaaany more plays than screenplays in my life lol - and I’m very intrigued by your borrowing of cinematic elements for your plays. I think you’d like many of the European stagings of classics and others that very often are much more interested in a ‘cinematic’ behavior-driven stage production than we tend to be in the US. are you in production with any of your plays currently? cheers
