The death of Pope Francis, aged 88, on Monday has reignited global curiosity in a 900-year-old prophecy that suggests he may be the last pontiff before Judgement Day. The prophecy, attributed to Saint Malachy, a 12th-century Irish archbishop, claims that the world will face divine judgement in 2027, ending both the papal line and the Holy Roman Church.
Pope Francis, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, died after suffering complications with double pneumonia and a respiratory tract infection, per the Vatican. He was elected in March of 2013, making him the 266th pope, the first Jesuit pope, and the first pope from Latin America. His papacy was characterized by humility, transparency, and reform.
The "Prophecy of the Popes" (Latin: Prophetia Sancti Malachiae Archiepiscopi, de Summis Pontificibus) was discovered in 1590 by Benedictine monk Arnold Wion and is kept in the Vatican Secret Archives. This work describes 112 cryptic mottos in Latin, each relating to succeeding popes, starting with Celestine II.
The book says that Pope Francis would be the last Pope before "Peter the Roman" comes to lead the Church through the trials and tribulations before the destruction of Rome and the final Judgement. The final statement in the passage states "In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep and will be greatly persecuted after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End."
Some interpret the "seven-hilled city" as Rome, and see the rise of a figure like “Peter the Roman” following Francis’ passing as a fulfilment of prophecy. Moreover, a cryptic link is drawn from Pope Sixtus V’s passage in the prophecy, suggesting that 442 years from his papacy, the world would end—precisely in 2027.
Even though this modern text has garnered considerable interest, most modern scholars dismiss it as a political forgery from the 16th century intended to sway papal elections. The first 74 mottos appear rather accurate while the remaining mottos become more ambiguous, making them suspicious in regard to their true origin. The prophecy has garnered attention indirectly by appearing in some works of fiction, including Steve Berry's The Third Secret and James Rollins' The Doomsday Key.
Furthermore, biblical scripture itself cautions against such predictions. Matthew 24:36 states, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.”
While intriguing, the prophecy remains speculative and is not recognised by the Catholic Church. Nonetheless, Pope Francis’ passing, coupled with the symbolic language of the prophecy, has reignited a longstanding fascination with apocalyptic predictions.

Great topic Mark Deuce! Saw a vid. on Tik Tok, with someone talking about it, about a certain secret archive, with pictures of all Popes. The last being of the Pope mentioned. But there was another picture frame along side all of them........But No Picture!!!...

I was in Rome this week and this is the so called ‘round room’ from the Vatican (was there tuesday). Monday I visited an Irish Catholic church in Rome, and the priest there said to me: “After the Romans, there was a new Emperor: the Pope.”
As a screenwriter I think: what if the Empire never vanished but always was there under our civilisation and what if it is coming back now in the open?
Notable detail: this round room has some similarities with the reconstructed interior of the Domus Aurea of Nero.

That is amazing Frank Van Der Meijden and I really think that Rome never did fully go away, it just changed with the times.

The topic is going in such an interesting direction. The next Pope certainly has an air of mystery attached. I'll give a clue. Given modern science you may think he's not even human or attached/controlled by human affections and certainly a god-like personality, capabilities and all!

Great video Eon C. Rambally but, according to St. Malachy´s prophecy, Pope Francis is the last pope, so who is really going to be the last one? Very interesting and I have been following this for a decade. With Trump in Rome and JD vance the last American to see the Pope Alive has so many connections here. We will see soon.

Big question Mark Deuce! Leonardo Ramirez 2 they certainly have! Again the entire discussion is phenomenal. The figure to come into play is going to be more than just a Pope. The physical abilities alone will be way beyond enhanced, advertising extraordinary health and as said god-like traits. He's really going to challenge the "public relations" notes! I haven't seen anyone in public office or public life, with the description to date (officially).......Except of course in films. Btw how's the latest version of superman to hit the big screens is going?...Ooops, didn't mean to stray from the point!!

Pretty crazy that VP JD Vance was visiting the Pope on Easter Leonardo Ramirez 2 and he dies. president Trump Wears a blue suit and not black one. I watched a wild video yesterday about a lady who has intel that Pope Francis was illegitimate and not a real Pope, hence why there were 2 popes at the same time and not since 600 years ago. She says it was a coup and that he is not the last Pope, but this one coming up is the last Pope. Furthermore, Francise was buried outside of the Basilica and all popes are buried inside says tons as well. Interesting indeed!

"patriarchal" belief system. Good Ole verse...lol.
.Typically we talk of Ancient Goddess time periods when Truly we ALL Know the predictions outcomes... to some degree... depending on ones spiritual experiences ..
During my first "break" in Time (known in 1980 as "breakdowns" ).. the verse Matthew 9:18 came thru me at the mid peak of crisis (my weight at 19 years old at the time was 90 pounds)....
It was a prediction that played out within a week of this horrendous time for my mother & whole family.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is that Biblical intentions of a patriarchal time period was subjective to the control it had on society at that interim. Therefore predictions though are just that, we actually DO KNOW outcomes forcthe most part....

Mark Deuce, everyone, concerning my last comment, on that particular day, I was out doing purchasing of new materials etc. and got some good results on promising projects, then I heard the new Pope will be chosen. What? Today? I'm so out of touch with certain matters to be focused on filmmaking! Pertaining to the results I was unaware of the possibilities and exact statistics, however my first three comments made some particular details.
Anyway, It will seem as though, this Pope is the last according to the link video I listed and also Sherri ZImmerman, as the function, office and purpose, will no longer be needed....A new era begins!!!
