My name is Adrienne, and I am a newbie to screenwriting. I have been writing since elementary school, mostly poems, one act plays, and short stories. I have been unemployed since February and decided to give writing a try, telling myself I have nothing to lose. I hope to meet some other writers who can give me tips and help guide me on the right path. Hope to speak to some of you soon.
Welcome to stage32. I hope you find success in screenwriting pretty soon!
Adrienne, nice. I too use to write poetic verse when I was younger. That is a handy skill to have, especially if you were revising your poems at a young age. Lots of helpful artists around the stage. Happy writing.
Good to meet you!
Welcome to the S32 family, Adrienne. Since elementary school you've been writing, you are a pro in my opinion. I started just like you as a pre teen and writing in all forms saved my life and now is my first passion, and career goal. Good luck. I'm here for you. These is a very giving network.

To get a meaningful and useful help, try to be more specific as to what you seek help with. You've decided to give writing a try. I'm assuming you mean writing a screenplay. If so, what are the specific areas you seek help with? For example, formatting, structure, books to read. If I can be of further help, I'll be happy to try.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Yes, I am writing a screenplay, among other things. I guess the biggest problem I have is networking; I live in a fairly rural area, so I will have to travel to network, unless it's done through the internet. I feel like having someone to run ideas by that understands the process of writing a script, will be able to better understand what I am trying to do.
Welcome & Good Luck Adrienne! This should be a great forum for you.

Nice to meet you, Adrienne. Good luck with your screenwriting career. I've been at this for over 20 years and it's a tough business but you can succeed if you write often, are willing to accept constructive criticism and stay connected to the rest of the world and alive to every experience.
