Introduce Yourself : Hola my friends! by Andi Katsina

Andi Katsina

Hola my friends!

Hola, hola mi amigoes. From Manchester, England, I am new to stage 32.

I'm a novelist, currently trying to convert some of my books into film projects, yes, yes, good luck you say, thanks, push on, I say, never give up : ))

I've penned over 20 epic size novels, a gazzillion words, phew, so if anyone needs any free help or advice regarding writing, give me a shout. Best wishes everyone, have a really nice time. Andi x

Mattie Moore

Lannah Sawers-Diggins

Welcome Andrea. Good luck with those conversions. And you are sooo right - never give up.

Raymond Zachariasse

Nice to see you on here.

Andi Katsina

Goodday, Lannah, thanks so much for the welcome. I hope things are moving along with your Red Dust Dreams documentary, very well done for a great insight into life in the outback. Best wishes Andi x

Andi Katsina

Hello, Raymond, thank you for saying hello. Guess by now you must have finished your screenwriters course, so good luck with your next piece of work. Hope to see you around the water cooler. All the best Andi x

Raymond Zachariasse

Andi Katsina Yes and no, my coach moved out of the country, so technically I still have two open lessons. But I did move on and I am busy with my fifth screenplay :) I also write and publish. That part is going well.

Adam Harper

Hi Andrea, greetings from Birmingham, UK

Andi Katsina

Hey up, Adam, or perhaps your prefer Mr. Harper : )) You know, Adam, it sounds as though you are going to make a LOT of headway on the screen-writing side, you are so into it, a thing most of us creatives (being a righter writer-wrighter, I might say ceativists : ) can relate to. Once you have all those words, notes, images swishing around in your nut bursting for release, one usually ends up with a rivetting collage. Best of luck to you. Andi x

Raymond, oh dear, that is a hassle, and some things simply do not translate well via conference call, sounds like you have to complete those lessons, though. Yes, five , almost five is a lot, perhaps it will get picked up, so good luck with that. I have written many novels, in lieu of a publishing deal I've gone ahead and self-published about a dozen of them. Glad to hear your writing and publishing is going well for you; very nice...! Have a lovely weekend. Kind regards Andi x

Collier Ward

Greetings, Andi.

Raymond Zachariasse

I'm producing my own work and there is a great website in The Netherlands where you can find paying and non paying jobs :) So I will have a lot to do :) As with publishing, I am not a self publisher, but I do help authors to become one. As a publisher I only take on good quality work.

The screenplays are loads of fun. It was one of my first loves which I shelved for too many years.

Andi Katsina

Thank you, Collier. Your company website seems like a great vehicle for showcasing your work. Gaining a Readership is not an easy thing. There are thousands of book clubs out there. If you can find any that fit your genre, you could always offer them ecopies for review purposes. Also there are sites that review stories for free, again it's all about finding the right fit, genrewise. Very good luck with your new job, Sounds like it is a great position, it also has you relocating so you have the adventure of discovering a whole new area, and that is a very nice thing.... A couple of my books (fantasies) are set in 1700's. In both I detail the family home; an English, and an American, country manor. The amount of research involved.. ..well you can imagine, can't you, Collier? Enjoy the weekend. All the very best Andi x

Andi Katsina

Raymond, it sounds like you are very busy. The job website is a good source for you, and as you say, it will keep you busy, too. That's very nice of you to help authors make their wor available to the public, a great feeling for some, I'm sure. Only taking on good quality work is probably a good choice, time saving, too, no doubt.

It's really great that you are having a lot of fun writing your screenplays; after all you are on for number five. It would not come as a surprise to know that a lot of the members of Stage 32 made similar compromises in that some aspect of their art was shelved in preference, perhaps time allowance, of another talent which could address the 'making a living' necessity. I wrote plays for many years when I was younger. Screenplays, with the special effects and technology available in the film industry these days pretty much enables one to write up a veritable storm of happenings. Be great to hear some of your work has been picked up and is being converted into the visual format. Good Luck to you.

Raymond Zachariasse

Thanks Andi. One project is still going strong, but I didn't write it. I am however producing it, so that counts too :) But I do have a lot on my mind, probably too much. I just hope to find a gig in which I just can write a screenplay and nothing more. As you know, a screenplay is no picknick either, so focussing on one thig for a few months would be nice.
