Introduce Yourself : Director/editor & actor from Sweden by Mikael Roth

Mikael Roth

Director/editor & actor from Sweden

Hi!

My name is Mikael Roth and I am a director, editor & actor from Sweden. I have been a member here for a couple of years now, but I have not been online for a very long time.

Ever since I was very young I have been facinated by creativity and when I was around 8 years old I was acted for the very first time in a short film. From that day I knew that I wanted to work with film and acting in the future.

Since 2011 I have been working as an actor in several film productions in Sweden and since 2014 I have also been directing, written and edited a couple of short films that have recieved awards at film festivals around the world.

I have just finished a 1-year film education in Sweden where I got the chance to experiment and learn even more behind the camera.

It would be fun to get in touch with other filmmakers, directors, actors around the world and maybe we could collaborate in the future.

Here is a very short teaser for my micro film "Disturbance" that just recieved the award for Best Micro film at Festigious International Film Festival 2020.

I wish you all the best with your projects and I hope to get to know many new creative people on this site.

Thank you!

Best regards

Mikael Roth

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg

Hi, nice sizzler. What does Festigious categorize as a "micro film" (a terms which actually refers to teensy film used for data storage). Is that essentially what most call a "short-short? Or is it some other category? I looked on their website and couldn't find anything to explain the category.

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg "Micro film" is a very short film

with a running time of max 2 minutes. So it is a very short often zero-budget production. :) Many festivals have that category actually. :)

Hey, Mikael Roth! Nice to meet you! I was looking over your profile, but you don't have much there. Tell me about yourself! Are you looking to perform in other people's projects, or are you leaning more towards making the films yourself?

I'd love for you to reach out on the Filmmakers Lounge about your experience making this - any short under 2 minutes is incredibly hard to pull off! https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing

Ooo, Sweden? Would you be interested in participating in the "Paris, Je T'aime" challenge I posted in the Filmmakers Lounge? It's just a fun way to get to know people through their city:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to meet and mingle!
