Trying to get out of my comfort zone

Hello fellow creatives!!!!

After spending the last year in my 2 bedroom apartment in the greater Los Angeles area, trying not to lose my mind, I am ready to take a leap of faith and get out of my comfort zone. I have worked in and around the entertainment industry for the last 20 plus years and am now ready to dive deep. I've been writing and have 4 scripts (3 almost ready and 1 I am very proud of) with another story I need to sit down and write. I've joined Actors Access, Backstage and We Audition and have done a pretty good job of submitting myself, with 2 online commercials and a music video shot in December. I've listened and participated in several webinars and classes, both on Stage 32 and through other online connections.

I would love to connect with a producer to mentor with, to truly learn every aspect of filmmaking, but have not given up becoming a working actor.

It's honestly been tough these last couple of weeks to find the motivation and determination- I truly hit that pandemic wall- but I keep getting up, taking walks, exercising and trying to do something creative every day (even if that means binge watching the entire season of Lovecraft Country in one day). I'm hoping that I can meet like minded people on this platform to keep me motivated and to learn something new every day.

Thank you for taking the time to read my little post and I hope that we can connect and help each other- even if it's just to make sure we take a shower every day!

Hi, Amy. Welcome. Pleasure to meet you. What genres are your scripts?

Amy Volker

Maurice Vaughan 3 are dramas and the other 2 romantic comedies. Two of them are basically one story shown from 2 perspectives- His and Her.

Hey there, Amy. Just remember what the Go-Go's said, "Can't stop the world, why let it stop you!" Keep hittin' those marks, and Write On!

Ray Matsen

Good on you Amy. All the best. Keep moving forward!

The two perspectives script sounds interesting, Amy.
