Happy Rainy Creative Weekend All!

In a land that doesn't often rain, until it does...it was gloomy day at Warner Bros yesterday with the LA River rushing (normally it's just cement with a trickle of water). But the lot was bustling with so many shows! For a business that seems very, very quiet, on this movie lot, you'd never know it. And I hope that's how it will continue as we come to a new year. My time on All American is coming to a close in a couple weeks as the season ends and the show finishes after 8 seasons (4 of which I have been on). The beauty of the business is new opportunities usually come when you least expect it. So although there's no certainty in the future, I will continue to keep writing and pitching and see what comes up! And that's a little bit about me. Enjoy your weekends everyone!

Hope you're having a creative weekend, Xochi! I don't like rain very much, but I prefer it over snow. I hope more opportunities come your way!

Happy Weekend Writing, y'all. Rainy or otherwise.

In my neck of the woods, the rain has actually past and it's getting cold early this year. The best part: mosquitos disappeared as if Thanos snapped them out of existence.

Hello Xochi Blymyer

Nice to meet you. Your journey is incredibly inspiring for me as a new screenwriter.

The creative path feels fascinating — writing, pitching, and shaping ideas in the hope of seeing them on the big screen one day.

Right now I’m focusing on my first screenplay, The Silent PFC War.

Logline: When an alien-engineered gas regresses humanity to the mindset of six-year-olds, rebel aliens join forces with imprisoned ISS astronauts to restore global intelligence before a hidden genocide plan is triggered.

But I can’t stop imagining all my worlds on the big screen — each one with its own characters, planets, crises, and strange beauty.

This is my greatest passion, and the dream I’m fighting for.

Thanks for sharing this, Xochi — love getting a glimpse into the energy at Warner Bros, especially on a rainy day. Huge congrats on wrapping up four seasons on All American, that’s such a powerful run and a testament to your craft. Your mindset about continuing to write, pitch, and stay open to new opportunities is really inspiring. Wishing you an amazing creative weekend as well, and looking forward to seeing what incredible projects you take on next!

Xochi Blymyer, I always smile when I see your posts, you bring such warmth and grounded optimism to this community.

What a beautiful snapshot of life on the lot. There’s something so poetic about a rare rainy day at Warner Bros while the stages stay busy and alive. It really does remind all of us that creative momentum can still thrive even when the industry feels quiet from the outside.

Congratulations on wrapping All American; that’s an incredible chapter to have been part of. And you’re right, the magic of this field is that the next opportunity often appears right when you’re not looking for it. In the meantime, your commitment to writing and pitching is exactly what keeps the door open.

Hope you;re having a cozy, creative weekend, and I can’t wait to keep cheering you on into whatever comes next.

Dustin Richardson

Best wishes, Xochi Blymyer !
