Introduce Yourself : SXSW World Premiere? by Scott Cronan

Scott Cronan

SXSW World Premiere?

Hi! I am a long time member, but haven’t active. I have spent almost 2 decades honing my filmmaking craft and have held many jobs including video editing for over 15 years.

Recently, a documentary film that I am Executive Producer on, called Echoes of the Invisible, That my director and I worked on for the last 8 years, was accepted to have its world premiere at SXSW this year! But then, of course, the festival was cancelled.

Rather than focus on what we may have lost, and being devastated about this situation, we instead chose to look how we can move forward powerfully and are now in the press and sales process to find a home for our beautiful film and give audiences a chance to enjoy and experience the themes expressed.

I am also currently in development in my first narrative feature film, a female driven tech thriller that focuses on family and themes of lying and betrayal and we are currently looking to start raising funds towards production as we lock down our development needs.

My documentary director, Steve Elkins (The Reach of Resonance (2010)) and I are also in the beginning stages of what his next film will be.

I would love to hear from some of you how this time is affecting you and what is one way you are going to work toward what you want to create in the days and weeks ahead.

Two hour meditation on life, time, the interconnected nature of all things, god, the universe and everything else. It forces you to ponder how you see the world and what you think it is all about.

I love reading stories of people turning this adversity into positive change. Very inspiring.
