Well done to all who entered. For those who didn't get the placing they hoped for, don't give up. Keep at it. Persistence is key. On to the next comp or the next submission or the next draft.
Funny - my script last year made the top 20% - so I got coverage and made changes. Thought it was much improved. Resubmitted and it made 0 - Zilch. A lot is about who you draw as readers in any contest.
Congratulations are in order. I know a couple of Producers who often prowel the top 10% looking for product. The generally can't afford the winners but they often cut deals with those 90 - 95% range.
They're a little cagey with the emails, leaving most people to wonder where they'd placed if they weren't in the top 20 percent. I was told that 365 entries had advanced to the quarterfinals, that mine had placed somewhere in the top 100 of those who hadn't advanced, that it'd "just missed advancing" and fell short "by a thin margin," which I interpret as an attempt to soften the blow that I was Mr. Unlucky 366!

Hey that's still pretty awesome. I'd count that as an accolade.

Still a very impressive accomplishment. Next time you'll make that top 5%!
Congratulations are still in order as far as I'm concerned, my friend.

Top 20% here, which feels okay, especially for horror. I'd be quite proud of the 6%. Congratulations.

To echo Christine Capone, how did you find that out? My email just said I didn't advance to the quarterfinals.
Justin they would have told you in the letter if you made it the top 20. If you didn't, then they don't say anything but "Regretfully,...."
