No way Weinstein lets him walk. Under any circumstances.

By all accounts, Weinstein was all in on The Hateful Eight. Color me skeptical, Chris, of HW's recent media blitz. Maybe the Weinstein slate will lean less toward violent fare, but I believe he'll keep his chips on the table with QT and defend any violence as a necessary aspect of the story...or some such BS....

I guess that's possible, Chris. I remain skeptical. Either way, it's going to make for an interesting follow.

Let's not forget QT's reported actions in the past. At just 27 and living with his mom he walked away angry from his first spec sale and refused to rewrite the ending for Tony Scott no less. If he was really that bullish when trying to break in, I can't see him rolling over for anybody now.

Hmmm, this entire spectacle could make for a film on its own........just sayin'.

I don't understand why those folks that had the script would leak it. There's no benefit or value to them. It doesn't make sense since Tarantino is going to know who could have leaked it. Weird... I'm guessing there's more to the story than what Tarantino is leading on..

There are a multitude of reasons - ego, payback, sensational pre press exposure of a potentially weak story, idiocy on the part of over eager agents/talent, planned publicity over the next months to year, etc. It is more common and contrived than most will admit.

QT has always worked this way. Give out the script to a few close friends, collect feedback. Never needed to worry before, until someone now has violated his trust. I don't blame him for being pissed off, and for needing to demonstrate by withdrawing the project that this sort of behavior won't be tolerated. And plus, he has such a deep well of material to draw from, there's no reason to spend years of his life pursuing a project still in its infancy, that gives him a sense of resentment.

He showed no sensitivity towards the people of Newtown CT when he insisted that Django, Unchained still be released, instead of agreeing to a later release date so why should he now expect respect and privacy?

this reminded me of one thing: the screenplay of Kill Bill got leaked to the world before the first Kill Bill came out. Didn't disturb Tarantino at the time. So why now? Also the screenplay was way better than the movie.

Perhaps this could be a storm in a tea cup, the script was leaked, what was the reaction to it's content?. Good, Bad or Ugly!!

Regardless of what you think about QT as a person, or as an artist for that matter, what happened here is stone cold wrong.

Q.T. wasn't very likable when I met him, & since then I've not liked him. HE IS AN ARROGANT A..HOLE !

I hope he wins the lawsuit and if I could ever make a movie like 'Ingluorious Basterds' I'd be a happy person. :^)

I didn't care much for 'Django.' Violence in movies doesn't really bother me. Violence in reality does. I just don't like the bigwigs who jump on the anti-gun bandwagon as everyone has the right to defend themselves against the low lifes of the world. 'Ingluorious Basterds' was extremely violent but WW2 and the Nazi's will never be eclipsed for the violence they perpetrated upon the world. Hollywood could really never show some of the sick, violent acts the Nazi's committed. I know that 'Schindler's List' came close and that Spielberg's heart was in the right place, but let's see anyone attempt to make a screenplay from the book '186 Steps' by Christian Bernadac. It is the true story of the Mauthausen death camp.
