The 2020 Virtual American Film Market

Really enjoyed Alexia Melocchi breaking down the new virtual American Film Market. What were some of your biggest takeaways today?

B.D. Gunnell

Thank you for creating this!!

Mark Maxey

Great conversation today Alexia. Grateful for your insights and advice. See you (virtually) at AFM!

David J. Greenberg

Thanks for such great authoritative insights and advice.

Craig Hubbard

I got great insight on how to work online with this years market versus the traditional way being this is my first I can see it not too threatening after Alexia broke it down for me.

Rachel Elizabeth Robinson

Thanks so much for answering my newbie question. Lots of scriptwriting to do for each series. I am going to just absorb all of AFM, learn the ins and outs of the industry then attend AFM 2021 with an arsenal of IP.

Thanks so much Alexia, loved your energy & your wisdom! You've truly inspired me. I'm excited to attend AFM this year! Previous years have been great but this will be a new opportunity!

I was supposed to attend Cannes Live, but when it was cancelled I regret that my team & I decided against attending the virtual Cannes. I did however attend Virtual TIFF & liked it. I'm currently finishing up the Chicago International Film Festival & the 5 day "IndustryDays" conference was great! I didn't know what to expect with the virtual Networking/Cocktail Hour Events, but they were Amazing! I loved popping around to different tables. The conversations were of such great quality & it was fun to meet & re-connect with peers I hadn't seen in a while.

Thanks again & I look forward to hopefully seeing everyone at Virtual AFM! Give me a shout... I'll be there for both AptitudeFilms/SittingUnderTheChestnutTree & Bcreative5Films/Primrose. Both are in Development, so this is mostly a networking year for me. :)

Alexia was great -- felt really inspired to get my pass and spend the time really exploring and researching and developing a plan, not specifically for AFM, but for how to start connecting the dots of all the people who will be there and at other markets over the course of the year.

There was an article in IndieWire about sales agencies (CAA, ICM, UTA, etc.) planning on a virtual market to coincide with AFM. We're talking about it in the Producing Lounge: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/producing/Are-You-Hopeful-for-the-Next-Ro...
