The Third Bomb wins at Nashville!

Anthony, Sam, Kerry, Cynthia and Danny - thank you soooo much!!

Phil Parker

@Owen - contests are just one part of the overall marketing strategy. I certainly would like to sell it, but until I have an offer, I have to try everything. Having said that, there are only a couple of the top ones left that I haven't entered that I will enter in the next day or so. After that, I'm done with comps. Pitching, query letters, networking - that's all going on at the same time, but now I will ramp it up. :-) Cheers!

Helena Ellison

I knew you'd win, congrats! :)

Phil Parker

That's very kind of you, Helena. Thank you :-)

Jean-Pierre Chapoteau

Congrats, Phillip. When it's good news like this, it's always nice to hear about a fellow writer succeeding.

Phil Parker

Jim and Jean-Pierre, Cheers to you both!!

Virginia Brucker

Phillip--outstanding! Hope you are having a stellar celebration!

Anthony Cawood

@Owen, one of my shorts won in last years festival, then sold it as 'Nashville Award Winning xxx' - the relatively small investment ended up with a short that made over $500 (comp prize + sale fee).

Phil Parker

Just gotta try every avenue I can to find that special someone who will fall in love with my baby ;-)

Brian Walsh

Congrats Phllip! That's fantastic!

Stephen Barber

Great job Phillip! I was a Quarterfinalist. Great contest. I'm certain it is a great script. Love to read it. I'm affiliated with the only FLYING B-29 FiFi.

Phil Parker

Thanks again, Brian! :-) @Stephen B- oh, really?! I visited FiFi at an airshow in 2001 in Midland, TX where she's based. I was a freelance journalist and got to interview WWII vets and fly on a vintage plane as research for an article and this script. I didn't get to fly on FiFi, unfortunately, but it was a fantastic experience and a wonderful memory I will treasure forever.

Stephen Barber

How cool! Small world. I was just in Midland TX in February. My dad was inducted into the Hall of Fame with the CAF https://vimeo.com/119883098 Here's a link to my affiliation to the unit. I'm very fortunate to have this experience, and to be around these amazing aircraft. I'd love to chat with you about the other 'toys' we have and fly. Great Job Phil! Proud to know you!

Josh Barkey

Congrats!

Phil Parker

Susan Holtzer

Great news, Phillip! Congrats!

Phil Parker

Thanks, Phil! How was the Hill Country Festival?

Phillip E. Hardy, Prolifique

Phillip: It was really a great weekend. Beautiful town, restaurants, shop and you would find the Admiral Nimitz war museum of particular interest. They have the largest collection in the world of WWII Pacific theater memorabilia, including a midget Japanese submarine. The film festival was a blast, nice filmmaker’s tent outside with free flowing liquor and cool swag. The people are great and the films were top tier, including “One Eyed Girl” from Australia. They had a great closing ceremony at Nimitz museum ballroom, which I lost but sat next to winner and he’s a lovely gent. Thank you for asking.

Phil Parker

@Phil Hardy - sounds great man. Right up my alley! Glad you had fun.

Phil Parker

@Susan H - thanks, Susan!! :-)
