Hi there! I just discovered STAGE 32 during AFM last week and had the pleasure to listen to RB's class on how to market and get yourself and your work out. It was amazing and I joined right away. I am very happy to be here. I would love to connect and chat about horror films, TV, - what are y'all binging and why? What's the tea anyway?!

Hey, Carmen Mosley! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. Nice to meet you and welcome! So glad you enjoyed RB's class! His book is on point, too: https://www.amazon.com/Crowdsourcing-Filmmakers-American-Market-Presents...)%3A%20Botto%2C%20Richard%3A%20Books
Ooo, I love ice-breaking questions, thanks for asking! We saw a bunch of classic horror films for October (Halloween, The Thing) and then binged Stranger Things. Just finished watching The Queen's Gambit, but Friday Nights are still reserved for The Mandalorian and The Great British Baking Show. We binged The Chef Show, Cooked, Chef's Table, and Nailed It, so during the week, we watch the other country's "Nailed It" - so fun! What are YOU binging? Anything you'd recommend?
Oh, hey, congrats on your screenwriting success, that's awesome! Are you participating in the Nov. Write Club? It's not too late to join and it's free! https://www.stage32.com/blog/The-Stage-32-November-Write-Club-is-Back-Wh... I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely reach out on the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) for insight into characters, dialogue, and even when you want to generate interest in a virtual table read!
Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time.

Welcome Carmen!

Hello! I loved your reply and thank you for responding! I appreciate all of the very helpful information - as a new member of Stage 32 - it helps to navigate all the amazing content and relevant education resources! I joined the Writer's Room and will check out the Nov Writing Club as well.
Thanks for RB's book link - I try to absorb everything I can writing-wise, film business-wise, etc., so that is so helpful. I have implemented at least 1 hour of networking, marketing, social media a day and double up on the weekend if you miss. I have already made some good connections here and on LinkedIn by putting in the time.
As far as what I"ve been watching - A Handmade's Tale (it's bonkers - but amazing writing), The Undoing on HBO, restarted Peaky Blinders, and always seeking out new Horror movies - as it is my specialty. I just watched After Midnight - Indie Horror Film with Henry Zebrowski (LOVE HIM)! I DO so love cooking shows as well! My daughter and I love the Baking Championships this time of year and always love Chopped - actually have learned a lot of great technique from watching it!
Thanks again for all the insight and I look forward to more education, conversation, and connection!
Cheers!
Carmen

Richard "RB" Botto - Thank you! I felt like that class was exactly what I needed to kickstart my marketing/outreach/networking. I was already in a class and it dovetailed into what I was learning. I have already sent my first written pitch via Stage 32! Wow - aren't we lucky to have such platforms to grown our businesses? How the hell did writers ever do it before? Live in LA and know people - I guess! :). It's been such a boost already. Obviously can't say enough good things about this platform

You've made my day, Carmen. Truly. Appreciate your kindness and generosity of spirit. This platform was intended to not only open the world and create opportunity for all (at least those willing to put in the work, that is), but to make it a bit smaller, intimate and less intimidating in the process. So glad it's already proving a boost for you.
