As we begin, Mike and Josh engage over the phone in a bet involving cookies, Mike not wanting to be tempted by cookies. They discuss the idea of staying over at the house, and then settle on the idea of moving Josh to Mike’s smaller house so they can make sure the other isn’t cheating. Meanwhile, at her workplace, Giselle is overwhelmed by her responsibilities at her job. Her interactions with Joey reveals the tension in their relationship, particularly regarding her work-life balance and his attempts to show affection through flowers, which she dismisses due to her workload. Back at the hospital, Samantha continues to open up about her feelings of abandonment and helplessness to Dr. Morfield, reflecting on her past experiences and the challenges she faces in her family life, which is further complicated by her brother Josh's arrest, and which she feels overshadowed her own struggles. Dr. Morfield encourages Samantha to assert her feelings and recognize the significance of her experiences, which is a crucial step in her healing process. We conclude with Joey’s three-way conversation between Mike, after he grabs the phone from his son, and Josh, with Mike and Josh unable to hear each other and authoritatively tells them they both have to be at the house due to Giselle’s absence at work, to help out and thus, the bet can’t really proceed although Joey doesn’t rule it out specifically.
