In this video, I discuss the crucial role of a skilled fight choreographer working in close collaboration with a director to create dynamic and safe fight scenes. The process involves initial discussions to establish the scene's vision and safety considerations, detailed planning of blocking and action choreography, and rigorous training and rehearsals with actors. The choreographer also works with technical crews to ensure that the visual and emotional aspects of the scene align with the narrative. On set or on stage, they supervise the action, maintaining open communication with the director to make necessary adjustments, ultimately enhancing the production by bringing thrilling and safe fight scenes to life.

Marty is a Film Director whose debut feature documentary 'Hostage To The Devil', which was supported by Screen Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen, was released on Netflix Worldwide in 2017. His passion lies in scripted storytelling with direct influences from Oliver Stone, Shane Meadows and Danny Boyle. Born and raised in Liverpool, Marty has been based in Northern Ireland since 2008. A former secondary school teacher and Section Commander in the Royal Marines Commandos (R), he has worked on operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. His previous work has taken him across the UK, USA, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.
