Official Trailer of Short Film - "Wonderful Macaron" - Directed by Chris Suqiasyan. Young filmmakers spot a woman in a wheelchair at a café and recognize her as the heroine of their upcoming film, unaware that they themselves are merely characters in someone else’s story.

This short film was made as the final project for my FMP 100 (or 101) class in late 2022. I really had fun with this one and while the shooting process was a little difficult at times, it was all around a terrific experience for me to work on a short film, even if it was on my own.

On the eve of Harper Santos moving to LA to become a film director, a citywide blackout traps her and her childhood best friend Elijah in his apartment. While reminiscing about their childhood, they begin the conversation about love they can no longer avoid. Made in 1 week, 10 crew members, $0 budget.

In a tense, closed-door confrontation, burned-out defense lawyer Charlotte Baker tears into her wealthy young client Noah Douglas-Ryker, convinced he murdered a woman who rejected him. Noah doesn’t just deny it—he calmly turns the knife, hinting Charlotte’s own daughter Mary could be next, and exposing the real leverage: Charlotte’s desperation to keep paying Saint Luke’s hospital bills. Trapped between justice and survival, Charlotte realizes Noah didn’t hire her for skill—he hired her because she’s breakable. Left alone with the case file and her fear, she makes a choice: she won’t fight fair anymore.

This is a short film about Ada, a maid, going about her work, tired, disheartened, and a bit sad, when suddenly...as she puts in her headphones, and starts to listen to music, her imagination takes on a life of its own, and uplifts her day from drudgery, and a mechanical existence, to that of a free, alive, full, beautiful woman, happy, owning the moment, reminded that life, is what you make of it...so, dance.
