It has come to my attention that someone is claiming to be Rick Heinrichs, the production designer behind films like Pirates of the Caribbean, Sleepy Hollow, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, this individual does not seem legitimate and may be attempting to scam people.

If you come across someone in stage 32 claiming to be Rick Heinrichs, especially if they are offering fake opportunities or behaving suspiciously, be cautious!

After several years away, 3 published novels and a heap of scripts and script ideas just waiting to do something with, I've now submitted two scripts to a variety of writing assignment posts, as well as researching management companies to approach. found great joy in writing screenplays once again and have 10 ideas-with-legs that I am now developing, most within the horror genre.

Following the sad passing of our cat, Tom, a few days ago, my heart is just not in the right place to write the next crime book. I am pulling some old scripts out and giving them a dust down for 2023, and looking at getting them out there.

I'm just breaking the ice here but was wondering if anyone writes their first draft long-hand?

I've recently taken to hand writing vomit drafts, and even with transcription, I've found myself far more efficient than when I try to write an initial screenplay draft on a computer. I definitely can hear the characters much more clearly and the stories can take unexpected turns.

I was just curious: Does anyone else work this way? If so, what's your experience?

Hi everyone, my name is Jonathan Peace although almost everyone somehow resorts to calling me JP even if I never mention it (weird). Feel free to do so. I've been writing for over 30 years, initially as a ways to entertain myself, but then as a way to deal with a rough divorce. I wrote several novels (unpublished) and countless short stories, all of which now languish at the bottom of a box lovingly called my Compost Heap.

In 2009 I started writing screenplays, combining my passion of writing with that of the cinema. In fact I was working as a projectionist at the time, a job my father had enjoyed all his life (he sadly passed in 1984 when I was just 12) when I wrote my first screenplay, a wonderously crazy tale called Bubble-Butt.

Even crazier was the fact that this, my first script, got optioned by Causeway Pictures in 2012. After a year in development with some large names attached briefly, the option lapsed and it came back to me.

Cut to 2019 when I was illegally fired from my job in trade sales (I won the tribunal!) and I decided to kickstart my screenwriting career once again (I'd spent the last few years in 9-5 jobs to support my wife who was studying creative writing at University, a dream she had long held. She has now written her 4th book in preparation for launching her career).

I enrolled at university on a Film Production course, wanting to immerse myself fully in the industry, work on different films, and develop my knowledge of cinema as an art form. I have started pitching completed scripts to agents, and am currently adapting a H.P Lovecraft story into a feature. In June 2020 I will be attending Fest20 in Portugal, and hope to secure representation by the end.

As part of the degree, I am producing my first short film called Mirrored.

I write high concept horror, thriller, action and comedy scripts aimed at a low to mid budget.

I am actively seeking representation for my current and future portfolio of work.
