Congratulations on writing your first script! It sounds interesting! You could post your script on your profile. Producers search profiles for projects. That and networking are how I sold four short scripts to a producer. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your script on your profile this way: www.stage32.com/loglines (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”)

Hi! Shaun Jackson Williams Patience is key. Be patient with the process and yourself. Have compassion for yourself as you learn new things; it’s okay not to know everything in the beginning. Be open to learning, evolving, and changing your process in real time. Embrace visibility and constructive judgment: critiques aren't bad; they are often necessary to reach the next level in your work. Create your own process and trust your pace; don't just replicate the path of others. Don't be afraid to take risks, and always remember to research, research, research.

You're right, Shadow Dragu-Mihai. The main purpose of the Pitch Sessions is to get feedback to improve a pitch, but sometimes the executives, managers, etc. will request scripts, sign writers, etc. (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories).

Maurice Vaughan Which is fine to say for S32 as a social media platform, but the producers, if they receive compensation, can be tagged with pay-to-play and that ruins careers in this industry. So best to make it clear (which the advertising does),

How do I reach out to the producers directly?

Hi Savannah and welcome to Stage 32. I can see you're wanting to talk to filmmakers directly. I get that. And I understand the passion too. Trust me.

But the reality is that you're where you need to be. You can't really just talk to producers or directors about business directly and unsolicited. That's not how it works. But see, here you have the education side. But the lounges are for networking.

Networking is how people start seeing your name. And you don't really want to spam post about needing to talk to someone.

Post about how your cat inspired a funny scene.

Post about finding 17 out of place question marks in your pages.

Post about writing struggles, wins, craft talk. Post about how that one time some friend or family member inspired you. Or broke you.

My point is, the film industry is a business but it isn't so cut and dry as civi business. It's a bit more personal because it's art. So, we too have to be more personal.

So, get into the lounge spaces. Post. Talk. Chit chat. Trust me, you have no idea who you might be chit chatting with. Most of the time I don't until it dawns on me way after the fact. And I know folks hate hearing me yap about networking when they first get here, but it's the truth of the matter.

One conversation can change things. Just one.

Savannah Cross make a nice Linkedin account and follow the right filmmakers/producers/directors - join the discussion, research, contribute - get into business. harder; find a manager or agent. besides all that keep writing if that's your passion. than your doing it and be sure to have a little luck.
