I write scripts for animation too, and what I find very usefull is reading mute scripts, like Wall-e. Speaking of it, I found a page with tns of scripts, here is the link for the Wall-e Script.

VanshdeepI am sure you're a much better writer than I am. It's easy to correct what is aleady written" It's Hell - from scratch- to write somthing good myself. I just know a few rules that - for me -feel like tricks.

We're just talking tips. Don't let them f up your own unique writing style too much. Absorb what you can absorb, then make choices you feel fit. Best, Rutger

One advice that I was given and works for me when I'm revising and rewriting: cut out any scene that doesn't move the story forward. Good luck.

Just to add to the variables of this meaning, it could also mean that you are stating the obvious, such as: using too many parentheses, using unnecessary transitions, explaining things in the action lines, poor grammar, using past-tense, not having any conflict in a scene, irrelevant subplots, no character changes (arcs), poor readability or simply no one cares about your characters etc... It's not easy, but remember the current trends are 'less is more'. Write well and enjoy the rewrites :)

Thank you guys so much for all the help, Martyn- all sound advice and definitely points I will follow, I have been skimming over script structures that are similar to what I am trying to accomplish for motivation and I definitely need to up my networking game within the TV community . Carrie- you can preach to me on your soap box anytime and your 100 percent right, part of my issue is I am insecure and very worried I wont get it exactly right the first time. my mind floods with too many ideas and I don't know which ones are the good ones and which are the bad...The whole 'you only got one chance to make a good impression' rides on my mind all the time. The review was paid, my fourth review and it was his only major complaint, he basically said the show was incredibly appealing but I paced the main plot too sluggishly. I have stepped away, took a break for two days and I am now starting to work on other episodes, the other episodes I don't have issue with ,its the pilot so maybe if I complete them I can reproach the pilot with clear mind. Didn't read all the comments so I hope no one said this already. My advice is always multi task. That way you keep the momentum going and the process too. That's just me...

SR: regarding structure and pacing....I find it the most helpful when I have a script in my lap, and am watching it on television, and can see how quickly and efficiently the story moves when I can break it down like that.
