Abdur, thank you so very much for giving my hard work some attention. Being independent makes things very difficult. Hope you enjoy CIT and let me know your thoughts. Thanks again! :)

Abdur Mohammed

Will do, and look out for a review.

Abdur Mohammed Abdur! WOW! Thanks for watching all of that. I have been a filmmaker (indie) for over 20 years now. So I have developed quite a few skills to make my trailers, etc. lol But mostly it's...

Thanks for the share. “Docks of New York” also a must see 1928. Actors/Actress George Bancroft/Betty Compson. Director Von Sternberg another classic. The beauty of the film was we did not even notice there was no talking because artists spoke from the soul.

In my sound life I have worked with Fitbit, Google, plus plenty of other feature films, shorts, TV and everything in between. Spec script sales: fact or fiction?

Does anyone know if there are stats on spec scripts sold? Does anyone or any organization keep track? I've just been wondering if anyone ever sells a spec script these days, or if they do, how rare it is. When I read about new film projects getting the green light, or even look at screen credits for...

Jeffrey, no one buys TV specs at all, and what do jingles have to with anything? And the Coen - not Cohen - brothers are not doing TV, they just had their Fargo remade into a series. people shouldn't offer advice if they don't know anything about the business. it can only do harm.

William Martell

So I shouldn't be writing jingles when I really want to write screenplays?

The Narrator Controversy

In the screenwriting zeitgeist there is a school of thought that using narration or a narrator to advance your story is a sign of weak writing. This goes for flashbacks as well. Undoubtedly there are readers who believe this and upon seeing it, three strikes you're out, no matter how good the writin...

Minutia in Action Lines

It is always tempting for me to add minutia, i.e. trivial action that would not be considered "advancing the plot." My notion for this is filling in details as if an artist was painting a picture in an attempt to expand the virtual reality ... the sense for the viewer to feel more immersed in the su...

I think it is the concept of “Minutia”. If we take that literally it is overkill.

I give detail in action and description. As much detail as is needed to get the look and feel across. Minutia give the...
