Hi Cory, welcome to the platform!

It's fantastic that you have a TVMA animated series with the Series Bible completed—that puts you ahead of the game. That's exactly what a manager will want to see.

Don't send unsolicited queries to agents or managers; you are absolutely right, they'll be discarded. Instead, here are the best steps to take to find representation for a series:

1. Write the Pilot Script: The Series Bible shows the world, but the Pilot Script proves you can execute the story and write dialogue that sells the concept. A manager won't pitch your series without a flawless pilot.

2. Network Strategically: Use this platform and others to connect with Writers and Producers who work in animation or TV drama/comedy. Ask them who their manager is and if they'd be open to sending a referral. A referral is 100x more effective than a query letter.

3. Use Pitch Events: Use Stage 32's virtual pitch sessions with execs and managers. This is a low-risk way to get your project in front of decision-makers. Even if they don't sign you, they might ask for the pilot.

4. Register Your Work: Make sure your pilot and Bible are registered with the WGA and/or the Copyright Office. You need to look professional and protected.

Focus on getting the pilot script polished and then securing those warm referrals. You can do this!

You could pitch your series to managers, executives, etc. through Stage 32's Pitch Sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions). The Pitch Sessions are mainly to get feedback on pitches, but members have gotten managers, signed shopping agreements, etc. through the sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories).

You could post your pilot script on your profile. Producers search profiles for projects. That and networking are how I sold four short scripts to a producer. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your script on your profile this way: www.stage32.com/loglines (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”)

"The other thought I had was sometimes editing can be harder than coming up with the original idea and content." You're right. That's like when I rewrite old scripts. It's easier to write new scripts. I walk away from my laptop to take my mind off things for clarity a lot.

So true! And it's hard not to want to fix all of the things but if you do that, then you'd never finish. I just folded laundry and tidied up in my room lol
