Logline: A grounded character drama exploring the collision of old and new New York, the weight of legacy, and the secret networks that operate in plain sight.
About Me: I’m an NYC-based producer/director with a background in independent theater and developed television. I have a strong treatment, detailed character breakdowns, and a clear vision for two interconnected projects set in the city I call home. I’m seeking a co-writer/scripting partner to bring them to life.
The Projects:
1. The Play (Stage Drama): "Fifth & Forgotten"
· Setup: In the rapidly gentrifying heart of the West Village, the longtime superintendent of a storied apartment building becomes the reluctant keeper of its final, life-altering secret. When a mysterious new tenant with deep-city connections arrives, a tense, intimate battle of wits unfolds, revealing a hidden history that could upend lives.
· Tone: Claustrophobic, poetic, and morally complex. Think The Father meets The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, staged in a single, meticulously realistic apartment lobby.
2. The TV Series (Hour-Long Drama): "Borough of Ghosts"
· Setup: This series expands the universe of the play. Each season follows a different "Keeper"—a person embedded in a NYC institution (the Transit Authority, the Library system, the Parks Department) who maintains an unofficial, off-the-books network that solves problems the city can't. Season One focuses on a cynical MTA signal supervisor who discovers a forgotten tunnel and the clandestine society that uses it.
· Tone: Serialized, gritty, and mythic. Mr. Robot meets The Wire with a dash of NYC urban legend. It’s about the city as a living, breathing character.
What I’m Looking For in a Writer:
· A deep, authentic understanding of New York City—its rhythms, its contradictions, and its people beyond the postcard clichés.
· Proven ability to write sharp, subtext-rich dialogue and compelling character arcs.
· Experience or a strong passion for both theater (playwriting) and television (series drama).
· A collaborative spirit. This is a partnership. You’ll have significant creative input from the ground up.
· Professionalism and the ability to meet deadlines.
What I Bring:
· A detailed series bible for "Borough of Ghosts" and a full scene-by-scene outline for "Fifth & Forgotten."
· Industry connections in both NYC theater and television development.
· A clear path to production: a staged reading/workshop for the play in 2024, and a strategy for pitching the series package.
· A producer’s mindset focused on making these projects real.
Compensation:
This is a paid, professional collaboration. We will work under a Writer’s Agreement with fair compensation, backend participation, and shared credit. All details will be discussed transparently and agreed upon before we begin.
Next Steps:
If you’re intrigued by the worlds of "Fifth & Forgotten" and "Borough of Ghosts," please DM me here on Stage 32 with:
1. A brief intro about yourself and your connection to NYC.
2. A link to your portfolio/writing samples (preferably one theatrical and one TV/film script).
3. Your thoughts on what makes a New York story feel true to you.
I’m excited to find the right partner to help tell these love letters and challenges to the greatest city in the world.
Let’s create something unforgettable
