Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg Well, what you described are some kind of victims of circumstances ahahaha... That's why I specified above that I was talking about CAPABLE clients. I was more referring to the situation where, for example, a small but talented animation studio consisting of Chinese students gets an assignment from Disney and away we go... Of course, this will work both ways. But I think all such problems can be easily resolved if we (God forbid) start to be more ethical and realized about given cases...

You get what you pay for. You want the high end animation, that cost money. often times, inexperience directors will cost a project money cause they don't realize that all the changes they are requesting cost money. If they knew how to organize their ideas, the cost could be minimize.

A good animator spends years honing their craft so they can make a good living at it. People who complain about animation being expensive don't see the hundreds of hours these people put in the get the work done, It's tedious and mind numbing at time. I often tell people pay up or learn to do it yourself. I'm also an animator, I took the route of "learn to do it myself, so I wouldn't have to complain about prices :-)

Let me clarify, I have a team of 8 animators should I quote higher than their asking price?

Hello people, thanx so much for your feedback and comments. I have to say this project's been quite weird as we didn't manage to push it much. The lack of festival outlets for pilots in general didn't help and it's just hard to get it in front of the people that matter. It's always good to receive feedback about it, so thanks a lot!

Incredible reel, Justin McAulay! I saw orange and blue together in some scenes. I heard once that companies use orange and blue together for movie posters because people are attracted to that color combination.

hey Maurice Vaughan absolutely, colour harmony is an important part of grading and teal and orange is the most popular complimentary colour as skin tones generally fall / can be pushed to orange and lights / shadows are generally blue so it’s probably most versatile colour combo.

Having said that,

I always try to play with other colour combinations though to keep things fresh!

AI is becoming synonymous with disruption. It will be both a great good and a great evil as well as a lot of dreck. It encompasses everything from truly impressive sound noise and reverb reduction that make "fix it in post" now possible to people will attempt to legally marry a AI "person" and will property. At this point, I think it's not possible to constructively talk about "AI". I think we have to narrow down to the specific AI tech in a moment in time as it's too vast, even more than words like "computers" "digital" or "internet". It's even beyond "technology" at this point given the impacts on things far beyond tech.

Stephen Van Vuuren I agree mostly, except I do believe it is important to try and constructively talk about AI with any hopes in shaping it to be less of an evil. It ain't going nowhere, best to try and get a handle on it and not get left in the dust.

Sad and ridiculous. AI doesn't belong in animation, filmmaking, and any form of art.
