Congratulations! Wow, what a meaty world you’ve built! What was your inspiration?

Thank you, Amanda! The inspiration came from a simple question I kept asking myself: 'What if karma wasn't just a belief, but a code?'

I grew up surrounded by Eastern philosophy. At the same time, I'm fascinated by technology AI, algorithms, and neural networks. So I asked: what if the universe ran on lines of code? What if every action left a digital trace that could be read, processed, and manipulated? What if time moved as fast as guilt? From that question, Samsaraverse was born a universe where karma becomes code and time bends to reality.

While the world is vast and heavily sci-fi, the initial spark actually came from a very grounded, emotional place: a father's desperate grief. I started with the concept of 'The Prayer Server' a colossal machine built by a brilliant man (Mr. David) simply to save his daughter, Shayla. From there, I explored what would happen if that machine malfunctioned and fractured reality into different dimensions based on human regret and karma. That's where the complex rules of time dilation come in, where 5 minutes of real time can equal months or centuries depending on the dimension.

It's an odyssey that spans generations, ultimately exploring the idea that the door that opens for those leaving... is the same door for those entering.

What’s the Sound of Change about?

The story follows a couple as they navigate their roles within the civil rights movement. The story takes place in Baltimore in 1968, shortly after the assassination of Dr. MLK.

Episode 82: Lessons Learned The Hard Way, Very Hard

Today, we have a new person joining our podcast, Suzanne Bronson, who will be reading the women’s voices. I am so happy that this script is starting to become alive. We have reached a milestone in our long journey from interesting idea to worldwide TV hit. I hope you enjoy it if you like drama and understand it if you don’t.

Samantha is falling apart on the ride home with Giselle, who tells her not to let Defense Attorney Stern’s fire get to her and to expect that from life as an adult, but she is stern (no pun intended) with Samantha over the pain she, Josh and Amanda share even though she doesn’t know about the sleeping together, just that Josh got arrested due to a complicit cause made by the three in going to that concert without making sure Josh stayed home. Amanda, similarly broken by the painful barriers created by Amanda’s and Samantha’s sexual tryst, is treated by Bonnie to the perspective of a parent when she says, in the face of having to deal with Fergo and his homework/bed problems, having a child will cure Amanda of all these soap opera dramas she is going through. Dr. Morfield's prescription: stop filling emptiness with other people. Start with yourself.

i’m really proud of you for going after your dream Karl. Especially given dealing with dyslexia. I have no doubt that you’re going to write an incredible script. You have to follow your heart and the story within you. how are you finding the writing process so far?

Well done, Nela! I recently saw an interview from Christopher Nolan saying he's against using temp music as it stifles the creativity of the composer. What's your take on it?

Geoffroy Faugerolas hey Geoffroy! thag is an interesting take I've seen before. I think it's definitely valid but reference music can be very useful sometimes, it helps to visualize something that is not tangible at all so communication can be easier between the director and the composer. Maybe when you have so much confidence and trust in your composer that's possible but I think it's not always the case!
